The Linux Foundation announced today it is partnering to create a new form of digital identification to be used to let sovereign entities (Countries… Nations) to issue Central Bank Digital Currency.
Having a trusted identity will allow a person to identify themselves to country so they can be issued CBDC (real USD or Euro minted on the actual blockchain). This is huge.
By creating a unique digital ID, this will open up the possibility of voting for national level elections via the Algorand Blockchain.
